My name is Cassady, and I created CassArt Portrait Painting as a way to connect with others and to give back to the community. Started during the COVID-19 pandemic, my art reimagines favorite memories captured in photographs through the use of acrylic paint on canvas. I can take any photograph that holds special meaning, from family holiday pictures to outings with friends at the beach, and create a unique painting that commemorates and celebrates the moment in a work of art that takes on a life of its own.

My paintings have a unique style in which I leave out the detail of people’s faces, yet still capture the essence of individual characteristics. This “contour” portrait approach adds mystery and intrigue to the paintings. The absence of features captures essence of the subject's “look” while leaving room for viewers to use their imagination and add their own interpretation to the scene.

As the pandemic has put more stress on people’s lives, CassArt strives to relieve the pressure by donating all of the proceeds to the Marin Food Bank. 8.5 million adults in the United States live in households that didn’t receive enough food during the pandemic, and food banks all over the country work to combat food insecurity. By purchasing a painting from CassArt, you not only receive a painting you will cherish, but also contribute to a great cause that brings relief to those in need.

A little bit about me... I attend Redwood High school in Marin County (Northern CA). I love playing field hockey, volunteering, and expressing my creative side through numerous artistic activities. Painting portraits for people was my favorite way to pass the time during the pandemic, and I am proud that creating CassArt has given me a way to have fun and give back to the community.
